Sandhya Jain - Chief Executive Officer
Sandhya Jain has significant experience in strategic planning, office management, and administrative functions. From mid- 2000 through 2003, she was Vice-President of Empyrean Services, a nuclear industry focused executive management and consulting company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
At The Empyrean Group, she is responsible for overseeing financial management and associated functions to aid in continued profitability of the Company. Sandhya has previous experience working for law firms and utility companies providing business support functions. She has a degree in Applied Business.
Janice V. McGee, SPHR, GPHR - President
Jan is the President of Empyrean. Jan has over 30 years of progressive management and executive-level leadership experience within Human Resources and power plant operations management in the utility industry. She is highly skilled at leading technical areas of business and has the distinction of being the first female plant manager of a fossil plant in the U.S.
Jan has extensive experience in the field of Corporate Benefits and held the position of General Manager Benefits Administration for a large Pittsburgh corporation. In addition, Jan has been Empyrean’s Project Manager for numerous key contracts. Jan has managed unemployment compensation issues for a large corporation wherein she developed corporate positions on large scale unemployment compensation related matters.
Jan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts Degree in Industrial Labor Relations and she is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Management Program for Executives. She also holds a Senior Professional Human Resources Certification (SPHR) and a Global Professional Human Resources Certification (GPHR) from the Society of Human Resources Management and the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).
Mary S. Kubiak, MBA - Operations Manager
Mary is a seasoned professional with experience in Finance, Human Resources (HR) and Marketing. She came to Empyrean with significant experience in the electric and water utility industry. Mary has also been critical as Empyrean engaged new clients, developing policies and procedures and fine-tuning our back office operations to ensure that Empyrean met the specific needs of each client.
Because her professional background includes expertise in several functions, on a day-to-day basis, Mary provides administrative support and counsel to Empyrean’s payroll, HR and general financial operations. Mary also serves as Empyrean’s EEO Officer. She provides expertise in the area of Service Contract Act and its effective implementation for our government clients.
Mary has a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
Jennifer L. Ploskina, MBA - Director of Business Development
Jennifer is the Director of Business Development at The Empyrean Group and sister company Empyrean Services. Jennifer has over 20 years of combined experience in the power industry and the field of behavioral economics. With close to fifteen years at Eaton Corporation, Jennifer worked with clients all over the globe in positions with increasing responsibility including marketing, sales, operations and management. Her last job at Eaton involved a $100M portfolio of clients supported through a network of dozens of channel partners.
For the last six years, Jennifer was a Business Development Director at BI WORLDWIDE, where she helped to design and build engagement programs at Fortune 500 clients headquartered in the Pittsburgh region. In an industry with a typical sales cycle of two or three years, she built a thriving $5M+ business from scratch within 18 months, focusing on employee engagement and improving the work lives of her clients' employees. This time also allowed her to stay closer to home while her kids moved into their high school years.
Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's of Business Administration from the Katz Graduate School of Business, also at the University of Pittsburgh. She has two high-school-aged children and a husband of over 18 years. She resides in the Pittsburgh area, but frequently travels throughout the U.S. meeting with clients and prospects. Jennifer is passionate about solving challenges within the energy markets - grid resiliency, safety and reliability, and using technology for good.
